About the 2040 Plan
The City's Comprehensive Plan is the official document that is used to guide the City in all of its decisions regarding land use, transportation, community facilities, public improvements, and intergovernmental relations.

All cities in the metropolitan area were required by the Metropolitan Planning Act to create a new comprehensive land use plan in 2018. The Falcon Heights 2040 Comprehensive Plan was developed with broad input from the community and was reviewed by adjacent cities, approved by the Planning Commission, the City Council and the Metropolitan Council, and was formally adopted by the City Council in January 2020.
