About the Series

The City first began hosting Community Conversations in 2017 following the killing of Philando Castile during a traffic stop by a St. Anthony Police Officer. A total of 5 conversations were hosted from February to June, with topics focusing on inclusion, policing recommendations, and equity.

In December 2020 and January 2021, the City partnered with the Mediation Center in Minneapolis to host a series of virtual conversations via Zoom. The conversations included a discussion of inclusion efforts that have already been adopted, as well as future work that is planned. Notes summarizing key themes from the conversations are available below, and a final report will be presented to City Council and made available here in Spring 2021.
